Where are you?

YpsiLingua is based in Castelbuono, Sicily, and this is where we do face-to-face lessons and other services. However, we can do online lessons with anyone, anywhere in the world!

What languages do you teach?

At the moment we teach English, Italian and Sicilian, but we are looking for mother tongue tutors in Spanish, German, Arabic, Greek and French. If you are interested in joining us as a tutor, please send us a message.

What levels do you teach?

We are able to help with all skill levels from beginner to advanced. Lessons are personalised to your individual needs.

What do the language sessions consist of?

It depends on your needs / desires.

We usually try to focus on speaking the language rather than writing and grammar, so the sessions are mostly talking.

If you want to improve your reading / writing / listening / grammar skills we can focus on those things.

How much do the language courses cost?

We have different packages to suit different budgets and different needs.

You can start with a single lesson, but we recommend a block of lessons to give you the full benefit of continuity and to cover more content.

Who are your teachers?

All of our tutors are mother-tongue speakers with real teaching experience. We believe that learning from a native speaker is the most natural and effective way to develop genuine fluency.

Do I need to buy any books or materials?

No - all materials are provided by YpsiLingua as part of your lessons. We use a combination of published textbooks and our own specially prepared exercises.

How long is each lesson?

Our standard lessons are one hour. However, we can be flexible depending on your needs - just ask!

Where do face-to-face lessons take place?

Face-to-face lessons take place in Castelbuono. We can discuss a convenient location to suit you.

How do I book a lesson?

What is the free trial session?

The free trial session is a relaxed, no-obligation one-hour lesson where we get to know you, discuss your goals and evaluate your current level. It’s completely free and there’s no pressure to continue afterwards - although we hope you will! :)

Do you offer group lessons?

Yes! As well a private one-to-one lessons, we also host informal social evenings in Castelbuono with a language learning element. These are a fun, relaxed way to practice English in a social setting. Follow us on Instagram @ypsilingua for details of upcoming events!

Can children learn with YpsiLingua?

Yes - we teach students of all ages. Lessons for younger learners are specially adapted to be fun, engaging and age-appropriate.

I’m very shy about speaking - is that okay?

Absolutely! Many of our students feel nervous about speaking at first. Our approach is friendly, patient and completely judgement-free. There’s no such thing as a silly mistake - every mistake is a learning opportunity!
